Learning Devices
In today's rapidly evolving educational landscape,
integrating technology into the learning process is not
just beneficial but essential. Our school's one-to-one
iPad for learning scheme is designed to enhance the
educational experience, making lessons more
interactive, engaging, and effective.
For example iPads offer a range of educational apps
and resources that cater to different learning styles,
allowing students to personalise their learning journey.
This flexibility helps students grasp complex concepts
more easily and retain information longer.
Having a device dedicated to learning is essential for
learning beyond the classroom too. With an iPad,
students have instant access to a vast array of digital
textbooks, academic journals, and online resources.
This immediate access to information encourages
independent research and fosters a deeper
understanding of subjects.
This school managed device is the best and safest
way for students to be able to access our reliable Wi-Fi
network, eliminating the need for use of mobile data
and giving instant access to limitless learning
resources.
Practical information:
All students entering the sixth form in Year 12 are
expected to participate in our learning device
scheme to enhance their education at SJL.
Students will be expected to have their school
managed iPad in school every day and also use it
to support the completion of independent and
home learning.
Current SJL students
Students who already attend SJL will continue with
the iPad they have already been using.
New to SJL students
Students newly joining SJL will make two rental
payments: one in Year 12 and another in Year 13.
These students will receive an iPad on arrival once
the Year 12 payment has been made.
Any breakages or losses will be charged to
parents at cost.
For these students, the iPad must be returned to
the school at the end of Year 13.
